At the heart of this state-of-the-art sound mobile is an SSL 9000J - 48 channel recording/mixing desk, accompanied by a 32 channel, 8 group Soundcraft sub-mixer. The main monitoring speakers are the spectacular sounding PMC MB2s. It is Dolby 5.1 Surround capable and also has facilities to run four Sony 3348 - 48 track digital mutitrack machines.

Sound 1 is used for the main music mix on large festivals like Glastonbury , Reading , T in the Park and Radio 1's One Big Week-End. It is also used more regularly for Radio 2's Friday Night is Music Night.
